To oversee the operations of a manufacturing company, you have to understand complex processes. Manufacturing Manager Zach Tiano, who got his start in the marine industry when he joined Hurricane Boat Lifts in 2019, not only understands complex processes, he seeks them out in his personal time.
When off the clock, Zachary can be found 3D printing. “I thoroughly enjoy the process of building and designing functional parts using this innovative technology… It allows me to keep my mind active and engaged while fostering my love for innovation.” He prints anything and everything that interests him, from figurines to functional replacement parts to unique and innovative designs. At Hurricane boat Lifts, Zach oversees lift production to ensure each lift is built “to the highest standards of quality and reliability.”
“As part of my role, I am responsible for managing the manufacturing operations at Hurricane Boat Lifts. This involves overseeing various departments, including cutting, welding, and the machine shop. I ensure that these departments run smoothly and efficiently to meet production goals and deliver high-quality boat lifts to our customers.”
Zach says that being able to combine his passion for “problem-solving and manufacturing with the marine industry” makes his career an “exciting and fulfilling choice.”
“Manufacturing boat lifts requires attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the production process. I find great satisfaction in overcoming challenges and finding innovative solutions to enhance our products and operations. It keeps my work dynamic and engaging.”
The benefits Zach receives from his job with Hurricane extends outside of interest in and passion for operations and processes. Within the Hurricane Boat Lifts team, Zach feeds off the “strong sense of camaraderie and the family-like atmosphere among the workers,” which he says, “fosters a positive and collaborative work environment, making each day enjoyable and rewarding.”
When asked about his favorite projects, Zach says he always looks forward to setting up for boat shows. “This allows me to venture out into the field and gain valuable insights into our market, customers, and competition.” Zach takes in the information and his surroundings at each event and brings insights back to the team. “It’s an exciting and dynamic project that continuously expands my understanding of our market and strengthens our position within the marine industry.”
Zach’s favorite Hurricane Boat Lifts product is the Hurricane Platform Lift. “This particular lift stands out to me due to its combination of exceptional design and functionality.” Zach also says that the Platform Lift “truly embodies the perfect blend of style and functionality, making it my personal favorite among our impressive range of products and services.”
In addition to 3D printing, when not at work, Zach enjoys exploring South Florida. His favorite destination is Key West. “It’s laid-back vibe, picturesque sunsets, and rich history make it a delightful place to visit.” His favorite places in Key West include Duval Street, the Hemingway House, and the Key West Aquarium.
